Jolan’s Story

Jolan had always seemed to have difficulties with anything tactile, clothing, foods etc. Any transition from one event to the next would always end in meltdowns which would last 40-45 min. It would take intense pre-planning, which sometimes (almost most days) would not help. When trying to solve the problems it felt like never ending anxiety. You as parents feel like “where did we go wrong, what have we done”, which feels pretty hopeless at times. That feeling would sometimes create such an intense environment.

What made ADIO different was from the moment you walk through the door, there is a feeling of inclusiveness. ADIO’s team includes Jolan in all aspects of the care/process, not talk over her. We knew chiropractic care was helping her when we were getting ready to head out the door one day to run some errands. (Before, this would have taken a day to get her ready). Jolan got ready right away, and not only listened the first time- she actively helped her younger brother without prompting. He was struggling with things and starting to have a meltdown. SHE took the time to help him! Normally this would be my husband or myself helping her! She sat with him and talked him through what he was dealing with. I sat there in awe.. That was the moment I realized that this was doing so many great things.

Jolan has more confidence. She feels like “my muscles are no longer tight all the time”. She wakes up pretty happy most days. If she is having a hard day the meltdowns or struggles seem very minimal and SO short. She communicates more, instead of acting out. I have seen her help others out who seem to be struggling, like her brother and sister. I love seeing her feel more confident. Her silliness and sparkle is coming back.

Thank you ADIO for all you do! You can tell you all love your work- and it shows.
