Chiropractic Care for Children With Special Needs

Our goal at ADIO Chiropractic in Madison, WI is not to figure out what issues your child is dealing with but to figure out what is good and then magnify it, so they can live their finest lives. Chiropractic care for children with special needs can help accomplish that. Our team is always passionate about helping your child reach their full potential and making it easy for them to overcome challenges in life.

Dr. Eric believes when the body is in proper alignment and the neurological pieces are connected, the body is able to function at 100% and you can live a more fulfilling and quality life.

Special Needs in Children

So, what does “special needs” really mean? Special needs is a catch-all phrase that accounts for a wide range of physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral disorders and challenges individuals may deal with on a daily basis. These disorders can include developmental delays, medical conditions or psychiatric conditions.

Special needs for children can include learning or physical impairments or a mixture of both. It means that a part of your child’s body is not functioning in a way that would be considered “typical” compared to the general population. Children with special needs sometimes require special services or accommodations in order to participate in daily activities.

Signs Your Child Could Benefit From a Pediatric Chiropractor

If your child seems to struggle with any of the below issues or has been identified as having special needs, chiropractic care along with other types of care could benefit them greatly.

  • Developmental issues or delayed learning
  • Experiencing extreme anxiety or stress
  • Trouble sleeping through the night
  • Trouble staying focused during the day, hyperactivity or fidgeting
  • Behavioral problems such as anger, lashing out, or extreme tantrums

There are many chiropractic care benefits that can help your child improve their quality of life. If you notice any of these signs in your child, book an appointment with ADIO Chiropractic today. We would love to provide chiropractic care and chiropractic adjustments for your child, so we can help them live their best life. When the body is in alignment, the neurological system can function properly, allowing the body to work at it’s best so you can have the best life possible.

Chiropractic Care Can Help

Learning how to adapt to stress and changes can significantly impact how your child responds to different situations in life. In many cases, things are happening within their body that are not permitting them to properly adapt and react to stress. Stress can lead to various behavioral issues like meltdowns, anger, defiance, or anxiety. In these cases, we have found that the behavioral problems are truly uncontrollable for kids, leaving them feeling remorseful and unsure how to deal with all of their emotions.

Our talented team will work with your child to overcome and manage various stressors. Many children with special needs share similar experiences, whether it is difficulty sleeping, reoccurring ear infections, asthma issues, constipation, or food sensitivities. All these different challenges can further complicate the lives of special needs children, whether they are dealing with chronic illnesses, autism spectrum disorders, or ADHD.

What is the duration of care?

You should continue pediatric chiropractic care for as long as your child requires it. Some chiropractors may say that chiropractic care is short-lived, but with our talented chiropractic team, they design each of their chiropractic plans to be long-term without sacrificing quality of care.

Every child is different and the amount of time and type of care needed will differ for each child. There is no general set timeline or set amount of care that a child should receive. Dr. Eric, our pediatric chiropractor, will start by assessing your child and deciding on the best course of action. A few visits can be scheduled in advance. The doctor will recommend additional visits or less dependent on how far along the therapy is and whether or not positive changes in the course of treatment correlate with it.

It may seem that many of the various challenges your child goes through are unrelated; however, we have learned that many health challenges are strongly related. Since you have made it to this part of our site, this means that something is vibrating with you at a deeper level. We are here at ADIO Chiropractic to help you and your child improve their activities of daily living so you can live a happy life as a family.

We believe that our chiropractic services can play a key role in helping your child thrive and reach new levels of success.
